Vancouver exclusive day trips with hotel pick-up

Walks & Hikes through the Rain Forest

Hikes for All Sizes and Fitness Level

The British Columbia coastal mountain range is a hiking and skiing paradise. The mountain range stretches from southern Alaska to Northern California and along the backyards of Vancouver. Less than an hour away from downtown, pristine mountain meadows and spectacular views await the hiker.

Come on a guided and interpreted day hike with us. We have selected 3 different day hikes of varying degrees of difficulty. All of them are close to Vancouver. All of them offer spectacular views of Howe Sound from the mountaintops as well from the bus that takes you there. We offer three choices.

Lighthouse Park (easy)

This forested peninsula originally provided the dark background that made the Point Atkinson Lighthouse more visible. This is the city's last remaining stand of old-growth Douglas fir trees. ½ hour from Vancouver, this is an easy, interpreted hike to the water's edge with great views of the downtown skyline & English Bay.
Elevation Gain - 7 m/20 ft Distance - 3 km / 2 m Minimum - 12 participants

Black Top Mountain (moderate)

A rewarding trail with magnificent views over Howe Sound, leads to alpine meadows and small lakes of the summit plateau. Black mountain demands expenditure of energy by those who ascend it; the result, however, makes it worthwhile.
Elevation Gain - 7 m/20 ft Distance - 17 km / 11 m Minimum - 8 participants

Squamish Chief (difficult)

Scaling over 2000 feet, the Squamish Chief is the world’s second largest monolith. "The Chief" is a rock climbing mecca offering more than 200 routes to the top. "Machos" climb up the sheer face to the top and you can admire them from the road in the summer, but for everyone else there is a trail that takes you through the back of the Chief to the top of the face. Most of the trail is steep and as challenging as Vancouver’s "Grouse Grind", but it is about one third shorter and the views are more spectacular. Includes a brief visit to Shannon Falls, the 3rd tallest waterfalls in Canada.
Elevation Gain - 610 m/2000 ft Distance – 6.4 km / 4.2 m Minimum - 8 participants
