We take you across to the forests of the North Shore for a visit to the famous Capilano Suspension Bridge. Only 5 ft wide and 450 ft long it sways 230 ft above the Capilano River. On the other side awaits you an ecological reserve and the Treetop Adventure, a walk on a 100 ft high scaffold along the enormous trunks of giant Douglas fir trees. The Capilano Suspension Bridge is also home to the largest private collection of artistically carved totem poles, an art form that is unique to the First Nations on the Pacific Coast. Native dances are held here daily throughout the summer.

Right next to the Capilan Suspension Bridge is the Capilano Salmon hatchery, a unique salmon rehabilitation project and public education center. From June to September watch salmon migrate up the fish ladder and study them through the glass of their holding tanks.

In the spring you are treated to one of nature's wonders. Every year between March to early June some 150 blue herons return to 5 specific trees in Stanley Park to nest and rear their young.
